About the Half Marathon
The 2012 Heart & Sole Half Marathon is a USATF-sanctioned, professionally chip-timed road race, held north of Boulder, Colorado, framed by the majestic Colorado Front Range foothills. Half marathon runners begin at the Boulder Reservoir and travel out through Boulder County’s rural countryside on mostly soft-packed dirt roads and quiet rural lanes, on a loop course. You’ll pass farms, cattle, horses, cottonwood groves, prairie dogs and ponds, returning to the Reservoir along the Northern Colorado canal path, across the Reservoir ‘s north and south dams, and finishing alongside the shores of the Reservoir. Runners and walkers are welcome and receive support from 11 aid stations along the well marked route. Half marathon runners start at 7:10 a.m. View Half Marathon Course Map
