2012 Heart & Sole Half Marathon and 10K Opens Registration

Boulder, CO – February 2, 2012

Registration is officially open for the fourth edition of the Heart & Sole Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, August 19, 2012. Both races start and end at the Boulder Reservoir.  The Heart & Sole Half Marathon and 10K are professionally-timed, USATF-certified road races held in Boulder, Colorado and framed by the majestic Colorado Front Range foothills. Runners begin at the Boulder Reservoir and travel out through Boulder County's beautiful countryside on mostly soft-packed dirt roads and quiet rural lanes. The half marathon is a loop run; the 10K is an out and back.  Register at the Boulder Running Company or Fleet Feet Sports in Boulder, by mail, or online at

 All participants will receive a commemorative Brooks technical running shirt and socks plus an embroidered commemorative running cap from HeadSweats (first 300 registrants only), and a personalized race number. Half Marathon finishers also receive a handcrafted medal. Entry fees for the half marathon and 10K are just $55 and $30. The half marathon starts at 7:10 am, the 10K at 7:30 am.

After the races, relax at picnic tables in the grass near the finish line, and enjoy a variety of delicious Salvaggio's sandwiches, lots of fresh fruit, chips, cookies, bagels, yogurt, cold drinks and popsicles, plus chilled microbrew from Avery Brewing Company and sizzling Boulder sausage sandwiches in the Avery Beer & Brat tent! Stay for the Half Marathon and 10K awards, raffle drawings and giveaways and great music, all of which begins after 9:00 a.m. on the big stage at the Finish Line.
