Who We Benefit

100% of the proceeds from the 2012 Heart & Sole Half Marathon and 10K goes directly to benefit these two special nonprofits:

The Orphans of AIDS Trust Foundation

The Orphans of AIDS Trust Foundation provides for the care of children in South Africa and the KwaZulu-Natal region, who have been orphaned as a result of AIDS. On a global level, so many lives have been broken by the AIDS tragedy – 8,000 people a day around the world die of AIDS-related illnesses -  yet no country has been harder hit than South Africa, where more than 70% of the world’s AIDS cases occur, and where more than 5 million children and adults are currently living with the AIDS virus.

The Exciting Programs Adventures and New Dimensions - EXPAND Program

The EXPAND program at the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department helps people with disabilities improve and gain new recreation and leisure skills that will enhance their overall well-being and quality of life. EXPAND provides opportunities for both children and adults with disabilities to participate in recreation and leisure programs within their community. At the 2012 Heart & Sole Half Marathon and 10K, both on course and off, EXPAND members and staff help us with the races, so please say hi and thanks as you run by!!
